This is apropos of nothing, but Dave likes to be in boxes, no matter how uncomfortable they might be. When he tried to squeeze into a Clementine box, we thought it would be funny to see if he’d sleep in two boxes at the same time. Here’s our answer:

Little-Known Fact About Latex Paint. . .
It’s a cat laxative. No, you don’t have to make the cats eat it, just try to use it to paint, and the scent does it all. Honest to goodness.
I was finishing up the second coat on the hallway trim, down by the floor, and caught a whiff of a litterbox that needed changing. Immediately. So I cover things so cats won’t walk through them, check my feet to make sure I’m not tracking paint, and go scoop. As soon as that was done, I went back to painting. As I got closer to the hall bathroom, there’s that scent. . .again. So I cover the paint again, check the feet, and scoop the litterbox in the hall bathroom. As soon as that’s done, I go back to painting. I get as far as the top of the hall bathroom door, when I hear that unmistakeable sound from the other bathroom. Scratch, scritch, scratch. Followed by the odor. I pack up the paint, check my feet, scoop again. I go back out into the hall only to find. . .someone used the hall bathroom box while I was scooping the other box. I managed to get all the trim paint done, finally, went to wash all the stuff in preparation for the final touch-up on the walls. After everything is sitting by the sink drying, I open and mix the wall color, dip in the brush, and from the master bathroom I hear. . .scratch, scritch, scratch. I swear, I spent more time scooping cat poop than painting!
So, I’m going to take a break and let things dry a bit more, run an errand, then finish up the paint. That should give them a chance to really get it all out of their systems. Cats. Geez.
