Tomorrow is Moving Day

Tomorrow is Moving Day

It’s been so crazy – packing, moving things into the new house, painting the new house. . .tomorrow it’s going to be mostly over.

Today, our friends Mike and Ellen came over and helped us pack for hours!  The Home and School and some of the other teachers and moms gave me speeches and awards and lots of lovely sentiments (Oh, yeah, I had the waterworks going there.)  Everyone has been so wonderful, and it really is both sad and uplifting to know that I’m going to be missed.  I’ve moved a lot of times, but that has never happened.  Wow.  The kids are sad and excited, hubby is. . .sore.  I’m just wanting the work part to be over, and the fun part of getting into the new house and inviting friends over for beach weekends.  (This, in November.  I’m such an optimist.)

Teehee.

Impromptu parties with the neighbors.   (Including Dog Parties.)

Walking to get Bagels and the Times on Sundays.

Having an almost unlimited choice of ethnic restaurants and groceries.

Montclair Book Center.

Having a basement and two garages to hide all our crap in.

Volunteering at Fairview School, and getting hugs from the kids.

Things I Won’t Miss.

Things I Won’t Miss.

The van that picks up the kid across the street at 6AM honking its horn until the kid comes out.

The brand new car alarms that go off all night when new people move into the apartments.

The kid who trampled my flowers then demanded extra halloween candy because my bushes had scared her.

The person who dumped the used diapers into the planter at the post office.

The trash guys who arbitrarily decide to not pick up all the trash.
