So I’ve been not posting here, but that’s because I’ve been busy with other things (and commenting too much elsewhere to have anything to say here!) I’m in the process of re-arranging the sewing area (again) so I can actually use it instead of just looking at it in despair. I’m hoping to also move the computer into there so that I’m not in isolation here at the other end of the house all the time. I like the new setup much better so far, and made four nightgowns this weekend. I think I have enough room now to hang up all the fabric that’s strewn about. And arrange it by type and color so I can find what I have.
I had done a little playing with clay, and was bummed about not being able to make the shapes I wanted. So on Friday, when I headed off to check out an Asian grocery and a fireplace store in Manahawkin, I stumbled upon a thrift store and had to go in. Oh, I found some good things – I now have a bunch of spoons in different sizes and shapes that will make molds for some lovely pieces. Oh, and I got this, too:
I saw it and thought polymer clay right away. So, as I’m carrying it about the store, one of the volunteers tapped me on the shoulder and said “The girls and I have been trying to figure out what that thing is since it came in. I thought that since you picked it up, you might know!” Ha! I haven’t the slightest idea. The indentations are too small for chicken eggs, more like quail egg size, but I somehow doubt that a person with a taste for quail eggs would have a taste for 70’s-era brown stoneware. You never know, though. Maybe someone out there has an idea. Let me know.
