It’s actually been a while since I moved woodchips, but since it’s been too hot outdoors to make too much progress, here are some pictures.

What the pond is looking like now:
The woodchips and some of the slate from the front (plus moss from everywhere) was used to make this little patio. It’s not perfect, but at least we don’t feel like we’re going to slide down into the pond anymore:
A small sample of the numerous baby fish. The big ones you see are the koi, Kyle and Sam, and Bruce, one of the shubunkins. So far, we know there are at least 15 babies, but they’re small and fast, so we can’t get an accurate count.
And, of course, this is all incidental, because the real purpose of the pond (and, in fact, everything we do) is to please the cats.
