I had all kinds of things I wanted to rant about, but I just don’t have it in me anymore. I was getting pissy about the Model School Nutrition Policy here in NJ, because the papers kept talking about “sugary snacks” not being allowed, which would do nothing to the vending machine selections, since sugar has all but been replaced by high fructose corn syrup. However, when I looked up the actual policy, it included hfcs. Burst my big self-righteous bubble. Sheesh.
I also wanted to rant about the federal funding being taken away from arms and armor for ground troops and re-routed (by some legislators whose home districts would benefit financially) to an unproven aircraft that wouldn’t be delivered until 2007 at the earliest. However, to rant properly, I’d have to look up the links to the legislation, the history of the aircraft, the Senators’ home pages, and the fields where hundreds of thousands of aircraft and ground craft sit, unused, paid for by you and me. And I just didn’t feel like searching for all that, so you’ll have to take my word, for now, that I have something valid to be pissy about.
There was something else, too, but it must not have made me that pissy, since I forget what it was. Oh, it was the “Buy American” thing again, but I’ll put that up by itself. No, it wasn’t that, it was something else. Darn it.
