So, I had the annual mammogram today, all the way back up in Montclair. Dropped off some boxes at the friend next door (back when next door was in Bloomfield). She’s got her house on the market now, too, so I offered to restock her moving box supply as I unpacked. It was kind of funny looking at the old house and not feeling nostalgic or negative. I think that selling it to people we liked and doing a letting-go ritual before moving helped a lot. I poked around some shops for a bit, then hit the Korean market in Ridgefield Park before heading home. Had to stock up – I haven’t found a place in Toms River yet that sells stuff like really good baby bok choy or Choripdong roasted laver. I might not, ever.
By the time I got home, I was wiped. Napped for a couple of hours, started planning the list of errands for tomorrow, and hubby suggested hitting the yoga class at 7:15. It worked out well – not only did I get out and exercise, but I also knocked one errand off the list by hitting the KMart by the gym. Grandma and Grandpa will be getting hand painted mugs from the girls again this year (they asked for them).
Now, it’s a funny thing about yoga at a fitness place. You don’t hear the names of the poses, and certainly don’t hear them being called asanas. Some of them don’t even seem very yoga-like. It’s nice to stretch and relax and all, but it’s missing the component I always liked at yoga studios, the real mind-body connectedness. So I brought the yoga mat into the house with me, and I guess I’ll be taking advantage of the extra floor space in the bedroom to do a little more spiritual exercise as well.
