It didn’t get lost, I just forgot to write it. We were so caught up in the childlike joy of finally seeing the sun after a week of unrelenting rain. Hubby and I got quite a lot done with indoor packing, but then moved on to the garage (an even scarier place than the basement). We put out a shelf in front of the house to hold the still-useful items we were leaving out for people to take, which led to chatting with many neighbors and enjoying the sunshine.
At some point during the day, some idiot unceremoniously dumped everything onto the ground and took the shelf. Probably the same asshole who did it last time, and probably also the one who cut all the cords off the fans and lamps we left out for people to pick through. Next shelf that goes out will be the one that’s rusted through and covered with mouse poop and insect carcasses. We won’t clean it off, and I hope he cuts himself.
However, we still had a lovely day. We went to Brookdale Park, where there was an art show. At one point, the wind picked up, the sky got dark, but it never opened up with rain, and it was delightful to get outdoors. We got back, I made more significant packing progress, and we headed out to Sushi Hana in Montclair for dinner, followed by a trip to Montclair Book Center. I think that kind of trip is the one I’ll miss most after we move. You have to do a lot of driving to get from one place to another in TR. We shall see, though.
